Apex Solar and Triangle Electric selected as installers in 2016 Solarize Adirondack Coast Campaign

Kick-Off Workshop to Take Place in the Stafford Science Building atrium at Clinton Community College

June 15 from 5:30-7:30PM

Solarize Adirondack Coast is taking part in Community Solar NY, a program that will make investing in solar power easier and more affordable for local residents and businesses throughout Clinton and northern Essex Counties.

Community Solar NY makes implementing solar easier and more affordable by supporting locally-organized community outreach aimed at getting a critical mass of area homes and businesses to install solar and obtain competitive pricing, thereby lowering the cost. Historically, Solarize campaigns have lowered the cost of solar 10 to 20 percent.

After a thorough pre-qualification process, the Town of Plattsburgh, ANCA and the local solarize planning team, has selected Apex Solar and Triangle Electric as their designated solar installers. Residents and businesses that sign up for solar installations by October 31, 2016 will be able to take advantage of competitive rates, free site assessments, and a streamlined installation process.

The campaign will kick off with a community event, free and open to the public at Clinton Community College in the Stafford Science Building atrium on June 15 from 5:30-7:30PM with client testimonials, a joint Solar 101 presentation by Apex Solar and Triangle Electric, and Q & A portion, along with light refreshments. Residents and businesses owners who are interested in learning more about Solarize Adirondack Coast are urged to attend.

Town of Plattsburgh Planner Trevor Cole said, “The North Country has a long history of exporting renewable energy to other areas. Solarize the Adirondack Coast campaign will provide individual residents and small business owners with a financial incentive to power their own homes and businesses with clean energy from the sun. Now is the time to go solar!”

Supervisor Michael Cashman said, “This Solarize program supports and encourages renewable energy use in the Town of Plattsburgh and beyond—something called for in our comprehensive land use plan. I am excited to work in collaboration with the communities located in the Adirondack Coast to enable households to connect with the power of solar.“

Kate Fish ANCA Executive Director said, “Clean energy businesses in New York State anticipate growing more than 6 percent this year, more than double the rate of growth in US economy in 2015. ANCA is thrilled to support two local solar companies as the selected installers for the Solarize the Adirondack Coast program. Apex Solar and Triangle Electric have a strong presence in the North Country and are responsible for multiple solar conversions across the North Country. We look forward to watching them grow in the coming months.”

Solarize Adirondack Coast is supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) under Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s NY-Sun initiative. NY-Sun will invest up to $1 billion in solar power through 2023 to significantly expand solar installations across the State, ultimately transforming New York’s solar industry to become self-sustaining.
