Knights Support the Peru Food Shelf

Peru – St. Augustine’s Knights of Columbus Council 7273 recently assisted the Peru JCEO Food Shelf by conducting a “40 Cans For Lent” program at St. Augustine’s Church. The knights asked parishioners to contribute food during the 46 days of Lent. They generously responded with 1,057 pounds of nutritious food. The council followed up with a $500 donation. The combined donations will earn $200 in matching funds from the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council.
Since 2012, Knights of Columbus councils have donated over $8.5 million and 14.7 million pounds of food to local food pantries, community food banks and soup kitchens.
