High Peaks Self Storage is open for business

A new business officially opened in our community on October 19 and according to co-owner David Gordon, “People will be moving in starting tomorrow.” High Peaks Self Storage is located at 18 Dashnaw Rd. just off the Bear Swamp Rd. at Exit 35 of the Adirondack Northway. David Gordon and Rick Quero are the co-owners of the 94-unit facility. The two 140-foot buildings can be sub-divided into 10’ x 10’, 10’ x20’, 10’ x 30’ and even up to 10’ x 40’ storage units. Gordon said, “It all depends on people’s needs.”  This is a good time to move in because space is available and “Grand Opening” discounts are being offered.

Gordon said he expects to attract a wide range of customers. He sees the facility providing storage for many types of recreational vehicles such as boats, snowmobiles and jet skis. Many people use self-storage facilities to store automobiles. He’s hopeful that Canadians who fly out of the Clinton County International Airport and spend the winter in Florida may want to keep their vehicle under cover at a reasonable cost.  Many college students need more storage space as do people who live in apartments. Gordon said, “Our facility has eight and one-half foot doors which is a foot and a half higher than anyone else. You can drive a work van inside and it’s great for boat storage.”

Gordon and Quero already have plans to add thirty-two more units once these two buildings are filled.
