Catholic Daughters leaders say “Thank You” to everyone who helped

On behalf of the Catholic Daughter’s of St. Monica’s Court 2598, we would like to thank everyone who participated in St. Augustine’s Parish 3rd Annual Walk of Faith held on October 11, 2009 making it a huge success.  Together, we raised $1214.42 to help support The North Country Mission of Hope and The Jamaica Project. 

Feedback from walkers and participants attending was pleasing. The views from St. Patrick’s Oratory were amazing, the coming together of our parish and community was welcoming, and the weather was perfect.We would like to thank the 2009 Walk of Faith Committee Team members (Father Alan, John and Theresa Guynup, Gary and Julie Liberty, Ken and Vicki Defayette) for dedicating their time and talents to make this event happen!  In addition, we would also like to thank the Peru Community Church and North Country Mission of Hope for joining with us and promoting this event.

This event could not have happened without the help of many people. To each of them, we say “Thank You”.

For the use of the buses, Monsignor Aucoin, Steve Tartaglia, and Seton Catholic, we thank you.

For driving the buses, John Roach and Norm Torrance, we thank you.

For signing and setup, Ken Defayette and John Guynup, we thank you.

For the use of cones to mark our path, Patricia Votraw, we thank you.

For promoting the walk in our bulletin, Peggy Banker, we thank you.

For our opening prayer ceremony, Fr. Alan Shnob and Deacon Benson, we thank you.

For the beautiful music, Adam Blaine, we thank you.

For the beautiful pictures and the Article in The Peru Gazette, John Ryan, we thank you.

For Deputy Sheriff, Jerrod Olson, the Sheriff’s Department, and Peru EMT’s, we thank you.

For greeting our walkers at the registration tables, Vicki Defayette, Theresa Guynup, and Julie Liberty, we thank you.  

For providing rest points for the walk, Don & Linda Covel and Mike & Lisa Lawliss, we thank you.

For donating apples, Forrence Orchards, we thank you.

For donating water, Frosty Springs Bottling Co., we thank you.  

For donating coffee, Adirondack Coffee Roaster’s, we thank you.

For the reception, the Knights of Columbus Council 7273, Alan Dixon, and Joe Purtell, we thank you!  

For volunteers that helped the Knights of Columbus, Linda Covel, Kathy Marrant, and Jean Ryan, we thank you!

For our Crossing Guards, Scott Osborne and Tom Reyell, we thank you.

For taking the lead in our Safety, Ann and Lynn Wilkie, Kathy Marrant, Gordon Burdo we thank you!

For being ready for everything that came your way, John “Jack” Lawliss, we thank you.

And anyone else we may have missed, we thank you, too!

Your participation was greatly appreciated. As we prepare for next year, we hope you will continue to support this event.  Again, we appreciate and thank you for your support!  We look forward to next year!
