Peru Catholic Daughters host Memorial Mass

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas welcomed members and guests to the Diocese of Ogdensburg Past Regents Memorial Mass on Saturday, October 1, at St. Augustine’s Church in Peru.  The Mass was followed by a luncheon in the St. Augustine’s Parish Center hosted by St. Monica’s Court#2598 of Peru.

Deceased members remembered included Maryann Keenan and Ernestine “Tina” Van Splinter of St. Monica’s Court 2598 in Peru; Ruth Chapin, Beulah Cardinal, Kay Johnson and Virginia Marlow of Ava Maria Court 122 in Malone; Helen McGavish, Mercedes Drown and Yvonne Dubray of Mary Immaculate Court 479 in Plattsburgh; Theola Lamoy of St. Bernard Court 787 in Saranac Lake; Mildred Wood, Marion Frazier, and Gertrude Scripter of St. Mary’s Court 794 in Ticonderoga; Elizabeth Wilkins and Winola Agnew of Joan of Arc Court 867 in Willsboro; Rita Parrott, Jean Noel and Gloria Honsinger of Little Rose Court 1300 in Ellenburg; Patsy Clark and Donna Woods of Our Lady of Mercy Court 1511 in Long Lake; Anna Chase of Our Lady of Snows Court 1548 in Lyon Mountain; Sister Charlotte Keith of Dr. Tom Dooley Court 2183 in Lake Placid.

Those in attendance included NYS Catholic Daughters of the Americas State Regent Penny Martin; NYS Catholic Daughters of the Americas Chaplain Fr. Scott Seymour; NYS Education Chair, Emma Lou Smith; NYS National Chair, Anna Lucia; and NYS Membership Chair Christa Reyell. In addition, Msgr. Joseph Aubin and Fr. Alan Shnob concelebrated  the Mass with State Chaplain Scott Seymour. The Knights of Columbus 4th Degree led the ladies in procession. The Ceremonial Coordinator was Beverly Uliva.
