The Peru Athletic Hall of Fame has increased to twenty-six members. Eighteen Peru athletes and coaches were inducted in last year’s inaugural ceremony.  Six athletes and two coaches joined this elite group on Saturday, October 1st in ceremonies held at Cricket’s Restaurant in Peru.  The new members of the Hall of Fame include Kregg Bruno (79), James “Jimmy” Duprey (62), Coach Sharon Gruendling (1970-1999), Lawrence Morrow (57), Coach Larry Ewald (1988-2010), Paul “Scooter” Giroux (65), Jeff “Beefy” Way (89) and Barnard “Barney” Woodward (67).  This year’s Hall of Fame Selection Committee included Cathy Phillips, Stan Riggs, Gary Edwards, Larry Ewald, Scott Woodward, Kathy Flynn and Jeph Doorey. Last year’s inductees included Coach Tony Papero, Coach Michael Beauvais, Coach Stanley Riggs, Coach Suzanne Sterrett, Charles “Chuck” Kinny, Leon Angevine, Katrina Angevine Krasinski, William “Bill” Finney, Coach Cathy Phillips, David Duprey, Kim Kemp Duyst, John Daly, Peter Ewald, Eileen Roach, Michael “Tony” Montemorra, Sam Godfrey, Sara Facteau and Craig Duprey.
