Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor:

The sun broke through and shined on the 2nd annual Leo Bourgeois Memorial Golf Tournament where 19 teams took to the links and teed up in support of the event to raise funds for a scholarship in Mr. B’s memory for a deserving Peru Central School senior.  Because of the golfers’ generosity along with the tournament sponsors, $3,800 was raised for the Leo Bourgeois Memorial Scholarship fund.

I would like to recognize and thank the tournament sponsors:  Gold Sponsors – Forrence Orchards and Hyde Fuel Company;  Silver Sponsors – Abbott, Frenyea, Russell, Coffey, CPAs PC,  Bill’s Body Shop, J Hogan Refrigeration & Mechanical, NBT Bank and Yarborough Square; and Bronze Sponsors – Hamilton Funeral Home, Peru Federal Credit Union and Gary & Karen Wheelock.   Thanks also to the following businesses and individuals who provided prizes and gifts for the golfers:  Adirondack Golf & Country Club, Adirondack Health, Ian S. Breen, Craig Wood Golf & Country Club, Cricket’s Restaurant, CVPH Medical Center, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Harmony Golf Club, Lake Placid Resort & Golf Club, Sen. Elizabeth O’C. Little, Peter J. Martin, Northern Orchards, Pasquale’s Restaurant, Rulfs Orchards, Saranac Inn Golf Club, TD Bank and Whiteface Inn Resort & Golf Club.  Thank you also to the 76 golfers who signed up for the tournament.  Your support and enthusiasm ensures that Mr. B’s legacy will continue at Peru Central School.

See you in 2012 for the 3rd Annual Leo Bourgeois Memorial Golf Tournament.

Sincerely,
Cheryl (Woodward) Breen-Randall
