Peru School Board Regular Meeting November 8, 2011

Peru Central’s Board of Education launches its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 8th at 6 PM at the school district’s community room, adjacent to the main entrance of Peru High School. An executive session associated with particular matters leading to employment, collective negotiations and advice of counsel from the school attorney will take place immediately following the 6 PM start. The school board is slated to reconvene for public session business at approximately 7:30 PM. It’s anticipated the school board will:

  • Examine updated enrollment forecasts for years 2012 through 2015 and examine a snapshot report on student enrollment across this BOCES region.
  • Authorize the high school to amend its January 2012 schedule of classes to accommodate particular January 2012 State Regents examinations on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 when large numbers of students are expected to participate in algebra and English language arts examinations.
  • Establish a timetable to recruit and appoint a successor Superintendent of Schools.
  • Authorize the school district move ahead with selection of a teacher evaluation rubric from among the State provided menu of State-approved teacher evaluation rubrics associated with the comprehensively revised annual professional performance review for teachers.
  • Attend to the full range of regular monthly personnel matters, public reporting, new business and fiscal matters as is customary at regular monthly meetings.

A ‘public packet’ of agenda materials will be available for those attending this meeting.
