School Board regular meeting of May 8th
features public hearing on proposed 2012-2013 budget; The two Board candidates will have an opportunity to offer remarks

Peru Central’s Board of Education launches its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 8th at 6 PM at the school district’s community room, adjacent to the main entrance of Peru High School. An executive session associated with the performance history of particular employees and particular individuals being considered for employment, along with advice of counsel from the school attorney will take place immediately following the 6 PM start. The school board is slated to reconvene for public session business at approximately 7 PM. It’s anticipated the school board will:

  • Provide an opportunity for both individuals on the ballot for the vacant Board seat to offer remarks to the Board and other members of the school community attending this regular monthly meeting, in keeping with customary practice.
  • Offer a public hearing on the school board’s proposed 2012-2013 school year proposed expenditures plan for Peru CSD;
  • Receive and examine the 12th annual spring report on progress toward district goals;
  • Adjust the May 2012 academic calendar for Memorial Day Weekend by modifying the date of the one ‘unused’ inclement weather day, and request Principals give advance notice to parents and employees regarding that change of date;
  • Establish a 2012-2013 public reporting calendar, based on the streamlined reporting calendar put into place fall 2011;
  • Discuss the April 2012 State Board of Regents consideration of developing a legislative proposal for regional high schools;

Attend to the full range of regular monthly personnel matters, public reporting, new business and fiscal matters as is customary at regular monthly meetings.
