Plattsburgh – The North Country Cultural Center for the Arts announces the dates for its highly anticipated Summer Member Show which will run from June 8th through July 14th, 2012. The opening reception will be held on Friday, June 8th from 5-7pm in the Main Gallery at the Arts Center and is free and open to the public.

“It’s an ideal time for an exhibition,” says Janine Scherline, NCCCA Executive Director, “People are out and about in the nice weather and will soon be enjoying Mayor’s Cup activities as well as our Jumpin’ in July concerts on the lawn, and can stop in to see the wonderful talent and diversity of our artist members.”

“The Summer Member Show is always one of our favorite shows,” says NCCCA Gallery Assistant, Jeff Woodard, “It provides the perfect opportunity for the community to see what the North Country is producing in terms of art, and offers the chance for the community to interact with working North Country artists.”

Last summer, fifty members exhibited works in a variety of mediums including, but not limited to, digital and black and white photography, oil and acrylic painting, watercolor, sculpture, charcoal, pastel and mixed media. Works sold ranged in price from $75 to $3000.

Members are invited to submit works in all mediums include photography, painting, sculpture, pastels, mixed media, pottery, etc. Works must be dropped off in the Main Gallery no later than 5pm on Tuesday, June 5th 2012. Each member may submit up to three pieces of their choice, of which one must be available for sale.
