Message to the Public From the Staff of the Peru Free Library
We ask that you do not leave donated books here when the library is closed. Tuesday morning we came to work and found this bin left in the snow and blocking the entrance to the library. Besides books there was a used propane fuel canister which still had propane in it. What would you like us to do with that? This fall someone left multiple bags of books before the library opened, once again blocking the entrance, this time left out in the rain. Our opening staff had to move 7 large bags of rain soaked, and now damaged books, out of the way in order to open the library. These are just two examples of what is becoming a recurring problem. The library’s opening hours are clearly posted on our front sign. We would greatly appreciate the public’s cooperation with this issue.
