…WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST WEDNESDAY… WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 13 inches with locally higher amounts. WHERE…Clinton and Essex Counties in New York and Windsor and eastern Rutland Counties in Vermont. WHEN…Until 7 AM EST Wednesday. IMPACTS…Travel will be very difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes. ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow will be heaviest in intensity through mid morning today, making for a difficult commute. For south central Vermont, the snow will taper off in intensity as the day wears on. In northern New York, the snow will taper off a bit this afternoon, but then become steady again this evening, which could impact the evening commute. Gusty north winds will cause some blowing and drifting snow. Accumulating snow will continue tonight and Wednesday, mainly in northern areas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Please allow extra time if travel is necessary.
