Renowned blues artist coming to Peru Central

Kevin Burt, an internationally acclaimed blues artist, is coming to Peru and four other local schools. In 2018 Kevin swept the International Blues Challange winning, Best Artist in the solo/duo category as well as best acoustic guitar and best harmonica (The first time ever an artist has won in all three categories) This year he has been nominated by the Blues Music Awards for Acoustic Artist of the Year 2022 (Awards are in early May, fingers crossed)
Kevin will be spending a week in five local school districts doing a “Blues in the Schools” in memory of Guy Hausrath. On Thursday, March 31st, he will be in Peru to do several assemblies with lectures and performances and work with music classes. That evening he will give a performance in the school auditorium and have the student band join him on stage for a song.
On Saturday there is a big double show at the Strand along with Dawn Tyler Watson (JUNO winner 2020 for Blues Album of the year as well as an International Blues Challange Winner for Best Band among multiple Canadian awards for Best Entertainer, Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, Singer/Songwriter of the year. At that Strand show, students from Peru, Moriah and Plattsburgh each perform a song with Kevin.
It’s all about the Big Love for live music, supporting music programs in the schools, and a night of phenomenal music that will send your heart flying.
