DEC awards a Peru Water Quality Improvement Program Grant

There was good news at Peru’s February 20, 2024 town board meeting. The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation notified the town that it qualifies for a $1,053,381 Water Quality Improvement grant at the wastewater treatment facility. DEC previously awarded Peru grants of $1 million and $1,366,290. The project’s estimated cost ranges from $11 million to just over $25 million, depending on the work done. The town is applying for several other grants.
