CCHA August Event Schedule
August 5th – 5:30 pm, Plattsburgh Public Library, 19 Oak Street, Plattsburgh. “Exploring Plattsburgh’s Point: The Buildings of the Macomb St. Historic District.” With Dr. James Lindgren, Professor Emeritus, SUNY Plattsburgh. Examining the city’s East End, this presentation traces the development of the area’s historic architecture: the building styles, their contributions to the extended historic district, and the status of their preservation.August 11 Was – The Battle of Valcour Island – before, during and after. With Reenactor and Historian Craig Russell. Hear the story of the most important naval battle of the Revolutionary War – fought on our lake on October 11, 1776.
Now on August 11 – Echoes if we listen with Helen Nerska based on the newest Clinton County Historical Association CCHA Revolutionary War exhibit: Native, Women and Black Patriots in Focus. Discover how each group contributed to the cause with expectations that were not realized.
