The 48th Annual Applefest is only 19 days away!
Peru, NY, September 1, 2026 – Join your family and friends on Saturday, September 19, at the 48th Annual St. Augustine’s Applefest. Activities begin at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Augustine’s Parish Center. At 11 a.m., the community parade leaves Peru Elementary School and travels down Main Street to the Parish Center. People return year after year for the giant craft fair, apple fritters, chicken BBQ, fried dough, caramel apple blossoms, michigans, sweet sausages, burgers, and games. Kids love the train ride, face painting, and bounce house. There’s live music by Pipes and Drums of Plattsburgh and the On Three Band. Roger’s House and St. Vincent de Paul have sales, and the Grand Raffle drawing takes place at 4 p.m.
Rev. Alan Shnob is Parade Grand Marshal. During his time as St. Augustine’s pastor, the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store, Roger’s House, and the community soup kitchen began. Even though he retired in 2020, the programs he initiated continue to impact people daily.
