Sand, Sand and More Sand
By John T. Ryan
Peru – While most people are thinking of spring and summer, the Peru Highway Department is thinking ahead to next winter. Today and as time permits over the next few weeks Highway Department trucks will be hauling sand from a sand pit on the Rod and Gun Club Rd. to the storage shed at 9 Cross St.
Highway Superintendent Michael Farrell said about 7,500 cubic yards will be hauled. At 13 to 14 cu. yds. per truckload that’s between 500 and 600 truckloads.
