Fire Department 2011 budget will not increase
The Peru Volunteer Fire Department budget for 2011 will remain at $571,940 according to Department Secretary-Treasurer Robert Akey. The tax rate is expected to decline from $1.30 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation to $1.29 per thousand. Peru’s voter turnout strong
Gazette contributor Don McBrayer reports that 2,006 Town of Peru voters came to the polls today or 47% of registered voters. It was a strong voter turnout for a non-presidental election year. Fire Department was called to distribute candy last night
