Town of Peru 2016 Presidential Primary Election Results Not including 43 Affidavit Ballots and 14 Emergency Ballots Republican Party Donald Trump 299 John Kasich 159 Ben Carson 6 Ted Cruz 94 Democratic Party Bernie Sanders 349 Hillary Clinton 128 1,050 or 39% of Peru’s 2,838 Registered Republicans and Democrats cast ballots.

Turnout Very High For A Primary

Registered Republicans and Democrats were lined up at noon to vote in the Presidential Primary when polls opened at the St. Augustine’s Parish Center. Voting continues until 9 p.m. The Peru Gazette will be there when the votes are counted. We’ll post the Peru results as soon as possible.
