National Weather Service Burlington 4:30 a.m.

Our warm weather streak is over for awhile. Rain showers remain in the forecast, but no thunderstorms are expected today.\n\nYesterday, Montpelier and Plattsburgh broke daily record precipitation amounts of 1.86″ (besting 1.11″ in 1970) and 1.47″ (besting 0.83″ of 2014).

NWS Burlington – 6AM – 5/9/25  Rain has begun to overspread the region this morning with rain likely to linger well into Saturday for many locations. A flood watch remains in effect for portions of central and southern Vermont into Saturday with the main focus on poor drainage, urban, and nuisance flooding.

So, it is not your imagination that it has been consistently wet every weekend recently.

National Weather Service – Burlington Measurements in Burlington, Vermont, have now shown an impressive six consecutive Saturdays with measurable precipitation.

Mar. 26 – 11:45 a.m. Heavy snow showers are expected to move into parts of the eastern Champlain Valley. Please use caution when driving.

High winds and possble flooding today

Sunday, March 16, 2025 National Weather Service – Burlington, 6 a.m. Southerly wind gusts up to 35-55 mph are anticipated throughout the day. When rain begins this evening, winds will decrease, though excessive runoff of rain and snowmelt may flood rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

National Weather Service Burlington warns Sunday, heavy rain and possible flooding

Widespread snowmelt will continue through the weekend with widespread rainfall expected Sunday and Sunday night. This will lead to sharp river rises and the potential for flooding. Now is the time to prepare, so be sure to monitor the forecast and river levels in the coming days.

2024-25 Winter Season Snowfall Totals

National Weather Service – Burlington Here’s our map of reported snowfall totals for the 2024-2025 winter season (December through February). Most places saw near-to-above-normal snowfall, with the highest deviations from normal concentrated in the northern Green Mountains and the Adirondacks.

Temp hits 60 at Burlington Airport

NWS Burlington @NWSBurlington · The temperature at BTV (Burlington International Airport) has reached 60 degrees for the first time this year. This is exactly the date on which it first hit 60 in 2021, and it is earlier than the historical normal (March 27th).

National Weather Service Burlington Forecast for Saturday

We’re on our way to warmer temperatures. Until we reach that point, we’ll have to deal with some breezy conditions. South-to-southwest wind gusts will not be too strong, but they will be enough that you’ll feel most comfortable in a windbreaker coat and/or scarf.

Monday 1/27/25 – 3:31 p.m. NWS Burlington Gusty winds, up to 60 mph locally, will continue tonight through 9 PM as an arctic front approaches the region. Snow showers will move into the area beginning around 5 PM, with heavier snow and embedded snow squalls likely between midnight and 5 AM. #NYwx #VTwx

Snow is likely from this evening into tomorrow morning. Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous for portions of northern New York. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
