Peru Community Church – November Special Events

The Peru Community Church and the Reverend Peggi J. Eller, pastor, announce upcoming special events over the next few weeks.  All are welcome and invited to attend and participate.

This Sunday, November 11, Tim Rock and the Harkness & Keeseville Praise Band will lead a special Praise Service during the 10:30 AM worship hour.  The Praise Band includes 6 singers (including two musicians), and sings mostly contemporary and up-beat songs based on Scriptures.  Join us to have fun & praise God with music & scriptures!

Tim is a certified lay servant and a member of the leadership team of the Adirondack District of the United Methodist Church.  Tim will give the message during the traditional worship service at the 8 AM time slot on November 11th.  Both services are in the sanctuary in the stone church building at the intersection of Routes 22 (Main Street) and 22B (Pleasant Street), and Elm Street in Peru.

On Sunday, November 18th, the worship services at 8 AM and at 10:30 AM will focus on the season of Thanksgiving, and gift-giving and receiving.  Pastor Peggi’s message will be on “The Gift of Prayer”.

The annual Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service will be on Tuesday, November 20th at 7 pm in the sanctuary.  The choir will be offering a special anthem entitled “Simple Thanksgiving” with Cooper Davis as soloist.   The giving opportunity at this service will be for the SNIP program at Elmore SPCA.  This neuter/spay program helps control the pet population.  Thanks to the veterinarians who help make this low-cost program available.

Worship services on Sunday, November 25th include a message on “The Gift of a King”, in anticipation of the December 2nd start of the Advent season of preparation for Christmas.

Sunday School for ages Pre-K through 5th continues during the 10:30 AM service.  Nursery care for younger children is provided during both services.   Coffee and conversation follow each service in the Peru Community Church Fellowship Center across the street from the sanctuary, at 13 Elm Street.  Adult Sunday School is at 9:15 AM in the Chapel in the Fellowship Center each Sunday.   Monday night Adult Study is held in the Chapel on Monday evenings at 6 pm.

The Peru Community Church welcomes all to worship and participate in the programs and ministries of the church.  Questions?   Please contact the church office / Rev. Peggi Eller at 518-643-8641.  Our website is www.perucommunitychurch.com.
