The final election results are in

By John T. Ryan The Clinton County Board of Elections has certified the November 4, 2008 elections. Family Court Judge, Peru native and resident Timothy Lawliss was Peru’s biggest vote-getter. President-Elect Barrack Obama also did very well in our community.

The Gazette’s progress to date

By John T. Ryan The Peru Gazette made its online debut on September 17, 2008. Between October 16th (the day we started counting) and November 30th the Gazette was visited 3060 times (about 67 visits daily) by 1,041 visitors. The site was viewed in ten countries and thirty-seven states.

Peru Lions have most successful Turkey Trot ever

By John T. Ryan The Peru Lions Club hosted its 31st Annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day with 385 participants. The Lions raised about $4,000 which they’ll use to fund their many local community service programs. The Press Republican published photos and listed the finishing times in today’s paper.
