The Town of Peru will be holding their 26th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday November 30th at 7:00 PM at the Town Gazebo.  Everyone is welcome. There will be Christmas carols and the arrival of Santa Claus!  Refreshments will be served at the Peru Community Church Fellowship Center.

Highway maintenance and construction costs are always a significant part of any town’s budget.  The Town of Peru’s highway budgeted spending increased at an annual average of 4.4% over the past 5 years.  The 2013 Highway Department’s budget will be developed during October Town Board workshops. 

The Peru Town Council will be preparing its 2013 budgets over the next few weeks. The Peru Gazette analyzed the 2007 budgeted Town General Expenses and compared them to 2012 budgeted General Expenses. They increased by a total of 14% or an annual average of 2.8%. The Peru Town Council has scheduled fiscal year 2013 budget workshops. All meetings will be held from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM and are open to the public.  Very important spending decisions are made at the budget workshops.
