Snow flurries for a few minutes at 12:15PM in SE Peru…. 34 was the low at 8:00AM. Then temp made it to 39, setting 36-year RECORD LOW “HIGH TEMP” FOR MAY DAY in SE Peru!!! According to my equipment, the temp held at 39 12:15 ’til 2:25, and has dropped to 37 at 8:01PM!

Last Friday morning Rainbow Falls was about 80% frozen over. The ice must have broken loose that afternoon. Strange to see the water so high today (Monday) with the air temperature only 8 degrees and -8 last night. The ice level at the Carpenter’s Flat Bridge has risen dramatically.

State Route 9 is closed at the Carpenters Flats bridge between the Plains Road and Jabez Allen Road (Peru/ Keeseville) due to ice issues in the Ausable River.

The Ausable River ice cover at Ausable Chasm was relatively solid at 10:15 this morning as was the ice cover at Carpenter’s Flat Bridge and Ausable Point.  It’s 49 degrees at noon. Click here for video.
