Burglary & Vandalism at Peru Central School

From the Office of A. Paul Scott – 3/23/11

Peru Central School District Superintendent of Schools A. Paul Scott reported that buildings & grounds staff and school administrators responded on a timely basis prior to the start of classes this morning and promptly engaged the New York State Police, upon discovering evidence of burglary and vandalism at Peru Central School District.

High school and middle school Principals are engaged with New York State Police to investigate burglary and vandalism associated with the high school nurse office and the middle school office suite. Those two office areas are closed off this morning, as the investigation unfolds. Meanwhile, high school and middle school classes are proceeding in normal fashion, with no interruption to the instructional program.

No injuries have been reported in connection with this matter, Scott said.

Individuals with any knowledge of who engaged in the burglary and vandalism of the high school nurse office or middle school office suite are asked to contact the Plattsburgh Barracks of the New York State Police.

The school district appreciates the prompt actions this morning on the part of school employees, middle school administrators and the New York State Police, Scott said.

Peru Central is committed to providing a safe and orderly school environment where students may receive and district personnel may deliver quality educational services without disruption or interference, according to Superintendent Scott.
