(See more photos) Peru Central School Primary and Intermediate School teachers and staff showed their appreciation to the district’s school bus drivers Thursday morning, December 18. They greeted the drivers with home-baked cookies, Christmas carols and warm smiles. Snowflakes fell gently as the drivers pulled up to discharge children and received their Christmas treats.

The St. Augustine’s Christmas Craft Fair (Photos here) is underway today at St. Augustine’s Parish Center. There are almost fifty people displaying their beautiful wares. The St. Vincent De Paul Society also has hundreds of available clothing items. It’s not too late to attend. The fair will close at 3 p.m.

The Peru-Keeseville Ecumenical Choir will perform next Saturday, December 13th at St. Augustine’s Church in Peru and on Sunday, December 14th at St. John the Baptist Church in Keeseville. Admission is free of charge and the concerts begin at 7 p.m.

The Peru Lions Club hosted its 31st Annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day with 385 participants. The Lions raised about $4,000 which they’ll use to fund their many local community service programs. The Press Republican published photos and listed the finishing times in today’s paper.
