On February 5th Nicki and Ryon O’Connell will help their son Brady celebrate his second birthday and it would be understandable if they reflect on their experiences over the past two years. On November 15th Brady returned home after having undergone three kidney transplant surgeries over a ten-week period. Covel case adjourned with no future date set

The legal case against Town Supervisor Donald Covel has been “adjourned without date” according to a Clinton County Court spokesperson.  A scheduled January 6th conference between the Court, The District Attorney and Covel’s Attorney Mark Cowen was cancelled. The Town of Peru has an immediate volunteer opening for the Zoning Board of Appeals. Interested persons are requested to submit a letter of interest to the Town of Peru Code Enforcement Office c/o Kelly Petrie, 3036 Main St., Peru, NY 12972 by January 30, 2009. Crossing North brings its acoustical sounds to Peru on January 9

Crossing North – Click here for a very nice website will be performing at the Peru Community Church Fellowship Center on Friday, January 9, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, $15 for a family. Local homes sales continue to decline

Clinton County existing home sales slowed significantly in November according to figures released Tuesday by the New York State Association of Realtors. Clinton County’s sales were relatively strong through August, but since then they have declined steadily. Median home prices also declined compared to last year. Read more »

Town Board selects its confidential secretary & makes appointments

Teachers & staff show appreciation

(See more photos) Peru Central School Primary and Intermediate School teachers and staff showed their appreciation to the district’s school bus drivers Thursday morning, December 18. They greeted the drivers with home-baked cookies, Christmas carols and warm smiles. Snowflakes fell gently as the drivers pulled up to discharge children and received their Christmas treats.
